Obi Kaufmann

Last night went to Obi Kaufmann’s solo at the Cricket Engine. I sort of jump-started my “art career” at the Cricket Engine with a solo in March of 2005 . It’s a cool DIY space that has had some awesome shows. I also had my studio there for a year. I miss the space and the good folks there.
The lovely Lexa Walsh oversees the Swee[t]Art sales.
Obi greets us, he’s a real nice guy.
Obi’s work has a visionary feel where there may be some strange underlying mathematical or scientific plan which does not get in the way of simply enjoying the imagery.

Very cool. I particularly like the group of four planets and the twins. Kind of mysterious.
