Frank Lloyd Wright

August 11, 2007

We went out to the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, IL while we were visiting the Casey clan in the Chicago area. This house is the first he built for his family at the time in 1898 when most homes in the area were late victorians.

Here is the Unity Temple that Wright designed…

Here are some of the other houses in the neighborhood. The whole neighborhood is peppered with Wrights, either older buildings refurbished by Wright or ones built from scratch.

Those are beautiful houses. Long time ago I went to Taliesin West out in Arizona. What was weird was that all the doorways were really low. Apparently FLW was a shorty!

I’ve been to Taliesen West as well and I agree. I’m not tall but I felt like I could hit my head on the canvas ceiling.

Always been a big FLW fan, even if he was a maniac….thanks for posting these.
