Golden Gate Arts District

The strip along San Pablo Ave in Oakland near the Berkeley border has been dubbed the Golden Gate Arts District. There are a number of galleries popping up alongside some old stalwarts. Three of these venues opened their doors last night offering up some good art for viewing. The Compound Gallery features work by Crystal Morey, Derek Weisberg, and Ben Belknap. A number of these nice pieces are collaborative ventures.

Apologies for the iPhone pics. I need to get some good pics of the “Bright Darkness” show at the Swee[t]art Drawing Gallery.

good pictures are coming John. I imagine it is hard to get good pictures in a black gallery with an iphone. We gotta get you a better camera, we all rely on your excellent work.
