Pencil Drawings

Beekeeper, graphite on bristol, 14"x11", 2010

I’ve been working in pencil lately in an effort to loosen up my hand and reintroduce more discovery in my process. Also I’m trying to make the work less precious and more grubby and spontaneous. I think I’m digging this new way of working and we’ll see how this direction develops.

You’re not going to believe this but I have a sketchbook dedicated to just graphite. I totally agree about the special bond paper and pencil have. The little crazy broadsaify the bird Is my favorite. And the umbrella guys. Good post thanks.
